OUR HISTORY

For over 30 years Bethany Christian Church has been a church for discipleship, faith strengthening and outreach. As believers in the risen Jesus Christ, we seek to bring biblical knowledge and spiritual understanding to everyone we meet and encourage wholeness in a fragmented world through the love of Jesus Christ. As a part of the one, true body of

Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.

Our Mission

Our MISSION is to be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth.  Through local, national, and international partnerships, Bethany seeks to nourish our neighbors at the most fundamental level with donations of food, school supplies, clothing, hygiene products, and a strong support network. Through partnerships with the local homeless service providers.  During the holiday season, Bethany personal care items and clothing drive for Talbot House.   We also contribute financially to Lighthouse Homeless Ministries, Pregnancy Care Center in Plant City, Disciples Missions Fund, Christian Church Conference Center, Talbot House and Samaritan's Purse.   Through national and international partnerships, the members of Bethany are able to have a far-reaching impact. Our work with Church World Service, Samaritans Purse, Operation Christmas Child, and others has allowed us to positively impact communities across the world.  Christmas 2021 was an exciting time, as our congregation contributed 144 boxes for Operation Christmas Child, a project we work on 12 months/year!

Our Beliefs

As members of the Christian Church, We confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world.

In Christ’s name and by his grace we accept our mission of witness and service to all people. We rejoice in God, maker of heaven and earth, and in God’s covenant of love which binds us to God and to one another.

Through baptism into Christ we enter into newness of life and are made one with the whole people of God. In the communion of the Holy Spirit we are joined together in discipleship and in obedience to Christ. At the Table of the Lord we celebrate with thanksgiving the saving acts and presence of Christ.

Within the church we receive the gift of ministry and the light of scripture. In the bonds of Christian faith we yield ourselves to God that we may serve the One whose kingdom has no end. Blessing, glory, and honor be to God forever. Amen.
